The Tuesday after Labor Day is often the official start to many local high school and junior high sports teams' schedules. This year was no different, as many of the PAHS and PAMS teams were in action. At home, the junior high soccer team bested Northern Cambria 5-0 to set the stage for a 6-2 win for the boys' soccer team over DCC. Then, volleyball completed the home sweep by battling back to beat Ridgway in five sets. On the road, the girls' golf and boys' golf teams both won, with Punxsy's cross country teams seeing lots of positive results at Elk County, as well. In other junior high action, the 7th/8th-grade girls' basketball teams won, as well.

Wednesday's schedule will see just one game — a road match for girls' soccer at Brookville.
